“The Power of Girlhood 3.0: One Nation Under Girlhood, “is our means of supporting these young women in their journey into womanhood. This year’s open house, 12-4 p.m. Saturday, June 2 at Southfield Public Library, will offer a lively, thoughtful, informative look this important journey. Performances, live demonstrations, local vendors and activities will help bring the community together to learn about our program. More than 300 students, educators, and business and community leaders have attended the previous two open houses.
“The Power of Girlhood” has hosted several special performances, appearances, and activities all over the metro area in schools, churches, and detention centers. Its director is
Ber-Henda Williams, former host of Poetry, Pages and Scribes, a monthly poetry series sponsored by the Southfield Public Library, and “B In the City”, a web-based art and culture show.
